L’Amerigo Vespucci est un de plus grand voilier d’école militaire du monde.
Sa construction de ce navire a commencé le 12 mai 1930. Sorti des chantiers napolitains en 1931, le trois-mâts carré Amerigo Vespucci long de 101 mètres a pour port d’attache La Spezia.
Le navire porte le nom du célèbre navigateur italien qui, au XIVème siècle, a donné son nom au continent américain.
Le navigateur, comme le bateau, sont à l’honneur du magazine Thalassa du vendredi 18 janvier 2008, à 20 h 50, sur France 3, avec une fiction de 13 minutes qui relate l’aventure de ce capitaine qui chercha un passage par le sud pour atteindre les Indes. Il longea ainsi pendant des semaines les côtes du Brésil. De quoi rêver un peu en attendant de visiter l’Amerigo Vespucci lors de l’Armada de Rouen, en juillet 2008.

Salut,j’aimerais bien savoir le programme du voilier italien Amerigo Vespucci durant les mois prochains,à partir du mois de septembre 2008 pour pouvoir le visiter,je suis une grande amateur de ce voilier,merci beaucoup pour bien vouloir m’informer
